We are a week away from the premiere of the documentary in Goderich ON and eight days away from my trip to Madagascar. I am really excited and have my bags packed (more or less). I have been hard at work filling out the paperwork to make The Red Book Challenge a registered charity. This way, people can donate and get a reciept for their taxes – as I understand it. In order to finish the paperwork I needed to make a constitution. That is now done and will be posted here as soon as I figure out how to do so. Exciting times indeed. We (Kathy West Illustrator and I) have just finished work on the colouring book designed for children in Southern Madagascar. That will also be published here for easy download.

Now for the details you have been waiting for. How does one pack for a two month trip to Southern Madagascar?

Here are a few items I wouldn’t want to do without (did someone say Sponsorship Deal?):
Emergen-C drink powder
printouts of pictures of friends we made last year to give to them
snorkel and flippers
lemur plush toy and beaver for teaching animal lessons
copy of my PhD thesis (to show to everyone ha ha)
Copy of the documentary we made last year
Reactor Power Bank portable power supply
external hard drive with lots of movies
games to play
2 month supply of candy
probably forgetting something
Oh yes, surge protector for Berenty’s unpredictable power supply. Don’t let your electronics get fried!

Bye for now,
Amber
